A Surreptitious Evening with Grandma's Chair

So I had this fantastic idea to bring my amazing antique lime green chair, inherited from Grandma Maiorana, to the shore for family photos. Something about the muted colors of a Stone Harbor evening and the nostaligic sea salt air accompanied the spirit of her chair beautifully. My intuition knew something apropos was lingering but I couldn't put my finger on it. Until exactly one month later when the entire story of this day unveiled itself.

Approximately 2 hours after our 'photo session' Brett proposed to my sister Terese! We were all completely surprised, well all except my parents. They've known since the end of June. And couldn't be more thrilled! Brett and Terese are complete opposites and completely perfect for each other. I couldn't ask for a better broseph-in-law!

Except, of course, for Joe, who is equally as wonderful for my sister Michelle. That same afternoon on the beach he asked my parents if he could have Michelle's 'hand in marriage'! We couldn't quite figure out Joe's awkward reaction to Brett and Terese's announcement that evening, but now it all makes sense. One month later Joe popped the question in Central Park and we soon realized how much significance this day of family photos really held! Two awesome brosephs in one month!

I look at this picture of my parents now and see so much joy; they knew the entire time exactly what was going on. And I know that my grandmother was there watching, laughing and making sure nothing happened to her chair!
